The fuses located at the beginning of the line in the motor supply circuits protect the line due to their operating principles, that is, they do not protect the motor. There are different types of relays to protect electric motors from malfunction. One of these is the overcurrent protection relay.
When electric motors operating in AC or DC draw current above the normal value for any reason, regardless of the reason, the current must be cut off as soon as possible to prevent damage to the installation and windings.
